At ConferenceDirect, Bob has worked with a wide array of accounts across multiple market segments. He has led teams servicing a multi-national corporation that produced over 600 meetings a year; a major technology company with multiple citywide events ranging from 3,000-12,000 attendees each; a user group with conferences in Europe, Asia and North America; a specialty medical association and an association of MBA students. Bob was also responsible for providing the training and development programming for ConferenceDirect’s Associates ranging from onboarding training to courses developed for top producing Associates.

Prior to joining ConferenceDirect, Bob held various sales & leadership positions with organizations including Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Bob has served on a variety of committees and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Greater Midwest Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). In 2020, he was recognized by the chapter with its Robert J. Donovan Award. This award is presented each year to an outstanding meeting professional who leads by example, inspires volunteerism, and is committed to the growth of the industry. In addition to GMC-PCMA, he is a member of the Chicago Area Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the Chicago Business Travel Association. Bob received his Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification in August 2020.

Bob attended the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management at the University of Houston and currently resides in Chicago. He is an avid world traveler, college football fanatic and a fan of culinary adventures. When not working, Bob likes to spend time with his husband Dan and their dog, Xena.
